Why Read The New Plans and Subdivisions Section?

Plans and subdivisions are usually an indication that something is happening with the subject property. This can have commercial implications. If the property is being subdivided, perhaps some or all of the resulting lots are available for sale or will be coming on the market soon. Either the subdividor or someone else might already have plans to develop the property in some way. If this is the case, there might be business opportunities for anyone in the building trades or even anyone selling services or material to the building trades.

Even if a present owner is simply having the property surveyed, the filing of a plan indicates that they were interested in having the property better defined in some way. Perhaps they are thinking of selling the property as a whole or possibly there is some other commercial opportunity directly with the owner.
